Death of Lavina Nolley in NYC fire ruled a homicide, cops say

The dying of a girl in a Lengthy Island Metropolis condo fireplace late final 12 months has been dominated a murder, cops mentioned Friday. 

The blaze had damaged out round 6:20 p.m. Dec. 9 inside a second-floor condo on twelfth Road close to forty first Avenue in NYCHA’s QueensBridge North Homes in Queens, authorities mentioned. 

The fireplace marshal have since decided that the blaze was deliberately set, authorities mentioned.

Lavina Nolley, 49, was found contained in the condo with burns and trauma to her physique, police mentioned. 

She was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital-Queens, the place she was pronounced lifeless. 

Nolley died of smoke inhalation and a number of lacerations to her physique, cops mentioned. It was not instantly clear how she sustained the lacerations.

Nolley lived a few half-mile from the constructing the place the blaze happened. It’s not clear what she was doing within the condo on the time.
