Solomon Islands suspends all naval visits: US embassy

The Solomon Islands has advised the US it's suspending all navy ships from getting into its ports.

In a press release on Tuesday, the US embassy within the Australian capital, Canberra, stated it has “obtained formal notification from the Authorities of Solomon Islands relating to a moratorium on all naval visits, pending updates in protocol procedures”.

There was no instant remark from the federal government of the Solomons.

The transfer got here per week after a US Coast Guard vessel was blocked from refuelling in Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands.
