Letters to the Editor — Sept. 18, 2022

Harry’s ‘honor’

I utterly agree with Piers Morgan’s latest article about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (“Wish to honor Daddy, Harry? Nix the tell-all,” Sept. 13).

Harry ought to cancel his upcoming e-book if he actually means to “honor” his father.

Having suffered (in line with them), Harry and Meghan lastly “escaped” from the individuals and a focus they discovered so unsettling. As soon as free, they instantly sought the limelight, dissing the individuals they left behind.

It actually seems to be like they take pleasure in being victims. It’s so profitable. If they honestly had been honest, since now they've few interactions with household and no royal restrictions, they might recognize their blessings and style productive lives.

Drowning tragedy
It's important that the mother who drowned her three kids at a Coney Island seashore was going through an imminent eviction as a result of she couldn’t pay her lease (“Coney I. ‘Killer’ Mother,” Sept. 13).

America is a harsh nation for the poor. Would this mom have drowned her kids if she didn't really feel helpless and marooned, with out monetary assist to maintain a roof over her kids’s heads? I don’t suppose so.

Her poor selections however, she was a human being damaged by America’s chilly, do-or-die, “every individual for himself or herself” ethos. She had nowhere to show besides to the ocean — and that’s America’s drawback, not simply hers.

Parole move
It's no shock that the killer of John Lennon, Mark David Chapman, was denied parole once more (“No parole for Lennon killer,” Sept. 13).

He killed an icon of the left. Then again, the Parole Board routinely releases cop killers and concrete terrorists for humanitarian or racial-justice causes.

Like each different company in New York, the Parole Board is pushed by political concerns. Nobody convicted of homicide ought to ever be launched, and the households of their victims shouldn’t have to seem earlier than the Parole Board each two years to argue towards parole. Their family members are gone endlessly, and their murderers needs to be incarcerated for all times. That's justice.

Democrats’ conflict
“That is the second I gave up on Biden” by Sasha Stone, lifelong Democrat, was a robust indictment of the damaging path of President Biden, the Democratic Occasion and the media (Sept. 15).

Sasha clearly said how Biden is blindly vilifying MAGA Republicans, how Democrats “sacrificed the reality as they micromanaged the media to ship the proper headlines” relating to the violent 2020 riots and knowledge on President Trump and COVID.

She goes on to declare that the Democratic Occasion has develop into a “non secular motion, combating what they contemplate a spiritual conflict, a conflict of ideology.”

This occasion should be strongly defeated to ensure that our democracy to outlive. The mighty energy of the vote is the reply.

Vacationer slashing
With an harmless feminine vacationer from Belgium getting her face slashed in Chelsea, New York Metropolis’s progressives have established a brand new low (“Brazen slashing on subway stair,” Sept. 11).

Manhattan District Lawyer Alvin Bragg and Gov. Hochul ought to each resign in the present day (and apologize to the sufferer).

All of us help racial justice, however that doesn’t imply a criminal offense is not a criminal offense and criminals can run rampant. To say we'd like actual management is a large understatement.
