This Bronx principal is so impolite she even offended her boss.
Carla Ling of PS/MS 20 in Norwood shocked the district’s deputy superintendent together with her ill-mannered conduct, in line with a March 2022 letter to Ling from the higher-up, which was obtained by The Publish.
Deputy Superintendent Fia Davis wrote that on a late February name with Ling, her tone was “impolite, sharp and quick. You interrupted me and reduce me off a number of occasions.” Her boss reprimanded her for being “inappropriate and unprofessional.”
Issues didn’t get any higher on a later name with a DOE staffer, who reported that Ling yelled at her a number of occasions, Davis wrote. She added there had been a number of complaints from the college neighborhood about Ling’s “tone and angle.”
“Should you communicate together with your supervisor on this method, I can solely think about the way you communicate together with your subordinates,” Davis wrote, concluding that the principal had “demonstrated unprofessional conduct and insubordination.”
In dozens of complaints to DOE and interviews, mother and father and employees on the college painted Ling as a tyrant, who usually screams on the college students and harasses staffers to the purpose that they cry each day. Faculty workers additionally stated the principal is unwilling to correctly punish college students, emboldening youngsters to run amok.
“We had one scholar who threw a stack of lockers down the steps. If anybody had obtained hit by these lockers, they might have been killed,” a veteran staffer informed The Publish. “Youngsters clogged up drains. Youngsters all do sorts of craziness. She by no means disciplines any of them.”
A petition calling for Ling’s to step down has garnered greater than 200 signatures.
Ling, the DOE and the principal’s union didn't reply to requests for remark.
