Taiwan says it hopes to bring back soldier who went to China

Taiwan’s defence minister has stated the self-ruled territory’s authorities is investigating the disappearance of a soldier serving on an offshore island who has been present in China.

Chatting with reporters at parliament, Chiu Kuo-cheng stated: “We definitely hope to convey him again residence. So how will we get him again? There are different channels we're pursuing.”

He didn't elaborate on these channels.

The minister denied what he referred to as rumours that the soldier had fled from abusive remedy by the navy.
