Normal Motors is recalling greater than 484,000 massive SUVs within the US to repair an issue that may trigger the third-row seat belts to malfunction.
The recall covers Chevrolet Suburbans and Tahoes, Cadillac Escalades and GMC Yukons from the 2021 and 2022 mannequin years.
The automaker says in paperwork posted Tuesday by US security regulators that rivets that maintain the buckle to the mounting bracket on the left- and right-side third-row seats could have been shaped improperly. The belts could not correctly restrain a passenger in a crash, growing the danger of damage.
The corporate says it’s not conscious of any crashes or accidents brought on by the issue.
Sellers will examine the rivet heads and change buckle assemblies if wanted. Homeowners shall be notified beginning Sept. 26.
